Appuntamenti” (2016) è un progetto che raccoglie brani originali con testi in italiano, di cui è compositore e autore Marco Mancini, e suonati insieme ai Clark, la propria band di musicisti e cantanti. Gli appuntamenti vanno e vengono, sono stabiliti, sono annullati, vengono attesi con apprensione, con felicità oppure con malumore. ..però, nonostante tutto, mettono in relazione due o più persone.
E’ questa la costante del progetto: relazioni cercate, volute oppure negate, ma sempre risultato di “contatti” con l’altro/a.
I brani non seguono un filone prettamente “di genere”: sono l’espressione del bagaglio musicale personale dell’autore, sicuramente con sonorità di base provenienti dal mondo jazz, di tipo prevalentemente mainstream, ma con molteplici influenze di altri generi musicali.
I testi hanno in comune un approccio di tipo riflessivo rivelando però quasi sempre punti di vista ironici o comunque mai scontati.

“Appuntamenti”(2016) is a project that collects original songs with lyrics in Italian, of which Marco Mancini is composer and author, and played together with Clark, his own band of musicians and singers. Appointments come and go, they are established, they are canceled, they are awaited with apprehension, with happiness or with bad mood. .. but, despite everything, they connect two or more people.
This is the constant of the project: relationships sought, desired or denied, but always the result of “contacts” with the other.
The songs do not follow a purely “genre” trend: they are the expression of the author’s personal musical background, certainly with basic sounds coming from the jazz world, mainly mainstream, but with multiple influences from other musical genres.
The texts have in common a reflexive approach, however, almost always revealing ironic or in any case never predictable points of view.

Sogno di giorno
Jazz ballad in ritmo terzinato: un sogno reale, possibile di avverarsi, è solo quello che si fa di giorno, cioè ad occhi aperti, consci dei propri limiti oltre che delle proprie possibilità… così come la luna di giorno è quella che più rivela la sua vera essenza, mentre, come la luna notturna è un mero riflesso, così il sogno notturno spesso è soltanto una irrealizzabile fantasia…
Sogno  di giorno (Day Dream) is a jazz ballad in a triplet rhythm: a real dream, possible to come true, is only what you do during the day, that is with your eyes open, aware of your limits as well as your possibilities … just as the moon during the day is the one that most reveals its true essence, while, as the nocturnal moon is a mere reflection, so the nocturnal dream is often only an unattainable fantasy …

Sara
Ritmo pianistico dedicato alla propria compagna, con accompagnamento di bandoneon. Il testo si ispira a un concetto semplice, banale ma sempre vero: l’amore non è fatto di sole parole ma, anche nel caso di amori più maturi o “colti”, è comunque il contatto fisico che crea sintonia e armonia, così come fanno le mani di un musicista quando accarezzano sapientemente il proprio strumento per generare musica.
Piano rhythm dedicated to his girl, with bandoneon accompaniment. The text is inspired by a simple, banal but always true concept: love is not made up of words alone but, even in the case of more mature or “cultured” loves, it is in any case the physical contact that creates harmony, as well as they make the hands of a musician when they skilfully caress their instrument to generate music.

Joy Time
Beat fresco e leggero: se scoppia il mondo io faccio Ye Ye, così non scappi da me…Intriso di superficialità e cinismo, è un eco dei tempi contemporanei, in cui la relazione di coppia è anche affidata al caso e alle circostanze (anche lavorative), più che alla sola componente di affetto personale.
Fresh and light beat: if the world bursts, I do Ye Ye, so you don’t run away from me … Infused with superficiality and cynicism, it is an echo of contemporary times, in which the couple’s relationship is also entrusted to chance and circumstances (including work ), more than just the component of personal affection.

Thursday Blues
E’ uno sfogo: dopo tutta la settimana trascorsa tra i ritmi del contemporaneo, fatti di spritz, tag e altre parole alla moda, almeno per un giorno, il giovedì, prima del weekend, è vitale tuffarsi nel mondo e nei termini del Jazz: si va in tram, si beve un selz, si veste glam, …

Caipirinha
E’ un ritmo bossa, fluente e malizioso abbastanza da raccontare un incontro fugace, nato da un iniziale gioco di sguardi e poi consumatosi in una città vuota durante una partita di pallone… ironia, passione e serenità, con giochi di parole sul cocktail brasiliano.
It is a bossa rhythm, flowing and mischievous enough to tell a fleeting encounter, born from an initial game of glances and then consumed in an empty city during a football match … irony, passion and serenity, with puns on the Brazilian cocktail.

Canzone di un giorno di pioggia.
Una storia finita può essere superata in due modi: con rammarico e usuale routine di rimpianti (rappresentata dall’iniziale swing “rotolante”), oppure con la certezza che tutto scorre da sé, come l’acqua che da sola trova la strada migliore: in questo caso si può anche abbandonare la malinconia e ballare al ritmo ska/dub…
An ended relationship can be overcome in two ways: with regret and the usual routine of regrets (represented by the initial “rolling” swing), or with the certainty that everything flows by itself, like water that alone finds the best way: in this case you can also abandon the melancholy and dance to the ska / dub rhythm …

Non aver paura 
Jazz ballad, in cui la paura è piuttosto una incertezza, una insicurezza, dovuta a pensieri notturni anche non ben definiti, stati di preoccupazione e di timore che, come spesso accade, svaniscono e “col sole non si trasformano in parole”… grazie anche alla vicinanza e intimità con la persona amata.
Jazz ballad, in which fear is rather an uncertainty, an insecurity, due to nocturnal thoughts, even if not well defined, states of worry and fear that, as often happens, vanish and “with the sun do not turn into words” … thanks also to closeness and intimacy with your loved person.
